Invitation to the Rory’s Well Party
Rory’s Well works sympathetically with villages in Sierra Leone to improve conditions for these remarkable, resilient and joyful people. Due to the civil war and the ebola crisis, they need support to kick-start their self sufficiency.
So far we have constructed 20 clean water wells in 17 villages, created sustainable rice paddys in 5 villages and established ground nut growing in 3 villages. These projects enable the communities to improve their health, provide opportunities for young men and produce a small tradeable surplus.
The people of Sierra Leone, who have so little in material terms, are rich in culture, community and spirit, and there is much we can learn from them. Visiting Sierra Leone is a life-affirming and life-changing experience, and knowing we can make a difference to their lives is deeply fulfilling.

We invite you to join Rory's Party by becoming a Rory's Well Friend or Member
We have launched the Rory's Well Friends and Members to encourage regular involvement in activities and to create a regular income that will be spend on employing local workers to run our projects in Sierra Leone.
Please note: We do not have paid staff in the UK, all work is done by volunteers.
Our running costs are very low. We ensure that all funds go directly to support the villages.
Rory's Well Office and costs are donated by the Matara Centre, web and financial services cost a few hundred pounds each year.
Giving so little achieves so much in the villages – for example, £5 per month from 20 people will allow us to employ a local trainer to visit our villages to assist in Farming, Environmental issues, Nutrition etc.
We hope to attract many new Friends and Members and ask anyone who can afford a few pounds a month to join our activities and commit to donate regularly, however small
